GOAT 2026: By Golfers – For Golfers
Date: February 6, 2026
Venue: Golden Greens Golf Club, Gurgaon
The third edition of the Gurgaon Open Amateur Tournament (GOAT) was played on February 6, 2026 at Golden Greens Golf Club, Gurgaon — and from the moment the first groups teed off, it felt like one of those days golfers genuinely enjoy being part of.
With 64 golfers out on the course, GOAT 2026 once again reminded us why this tournament exists. It isn’t about formality or hype. It’s about golfers coming together to enjoy the game the way it’s meant to be played — By Golfers – For Golfers.

A Day That Just Felt Right
The mood on the course was spot on. Everyone wanted to play well, but never at the cost of enjoyment. Good shots were appreciated, bad bounces were laughed off, and friendly banter flowed easily between playing partners.
Some of us had played together before, many of us hadn’t — but by the time we reached the turn, that hardly mattered. Conversations felt natural, groups mixed easily, and by the end of the round it felt like we were all part of the same playing group.
The Format: Double Peoria
GOAT 2026 was played in the Double Peoria format, which worked perfectly for the spirit of the event. With hidden holes determining handicaps, the format kept things fair, competitive, and exciting right through to the very end.
It meant everyone stayed in the game, scores stayed interesting, and there was always a sense of curiosity about how the results would finally shape up.
Winners, Categories & Fun Prizes
The prize structure was designed to recognise both great golf and the lighter moments that make the day memorable. Winners were declared across multiple categories:
- Gross Score – Winner and Runner-Up
- Handicap Category 0–12 – Winner and Runner-Up
- Handicap Category 13–24 – Winner and Runner-Up
In true GOAT style, the spot prizes added an extra layer of fun and excitement, with awards for Straight Drive, Closest to the Pin, and even a much-appreciated prize for the Best Dressed Golfer.

Evenings Make the Memories
Once the golf was done, the evening brought everyone together again. Drinks and snacks set the tone for a relaxed and friendly close to the day, with golfers replaying their favourite shots, sharing stories, and enjoying the company just as much as the competition.
There was a real buzz as the group gathered, with conversations overlapping and a shared sense of eager anticipation building around the prize ceremony. It felt like the perfect way to wrap up a day well spent.
Powered by Golf TSURUYA
GOAT 2026 was proudly powered by TSURUYA, whose association fit naturally with the event and added to the overall experience.
Planned by Golfers, Run by Golfers
What made GOAT 2026 especially satisfying was knowing that the entire event — from planning and coordination to execution on the day — was handled collaboratively by golfers themselves.
That shared ownership showed in every detail and is perhaps the clearest reason why GOAT continues to feel authentic, personal, and true to its name.
Looking Ahead
With three successful editions now behind us, GOAT feels firmly on the right path. The idea remains simple and unchanged — keep it friendly, keep it fair, and make sure everyone walks away already looking forward to the next edition.
